Back to FederalInSynergy Engineering provided mechanical and fire protection engineering services for plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning, and fire protection for the DCGS Intelligence Squadron Operations Facility at Hickam Air Force Base.
The scope of work included conducting a site visit and preliminary walk through of the building, pulling record drawings and as-built documentation, reviewing RD documents and providing a “straw man” design prior to the three day charrette, attending the charrette and a Wing Command briefing following the charrette, and developing a charrette report and narrative of completion of the charrette.
Mechanical engineering design work included designing a central chilled water air conditioning system for the entire addition; designing plumbing to support the restrooms, break room, janitor’s closet, and other areas requiring plumbing; and providing ventilation for the restrooms, janitor’s closet, and workshop areas.
Fire protection engineering included assisting in the evaluation of the building construction, exiting, and other life safety requirements to comply with the applicable codes; designing the fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and mass notification systems for the addition; and conducting a hydrant flow test to determine the available water supply flow and pressure.
