St Francis Medical Center - Central Plant Renovation

As part of St. Francis Medical Center’s program to improve their facilities to offer improved healthcare services to their patients, we have been involved in the following interior renovation projects for their 270 bed hospital: stfrancis
  • Developed long range masterplan and designed their complete renovation of their central plant. Our work was phased over five years to minimize disruptions to ongoing operations and more importantly to prioritize the capital improvements to keep within the hospital’s annual budgets.
  • Remodel Sullivan Wing, 4th and 5th floors. This fast track project was completed in a nine month schedule from start up of design to the end of construction using a new modular wall construction system. Our work including providing air conditioning, plumbing, medical gas, and fire protection for 45,000 sf of patient care areas, including a new state of the art Bone Marrow Transplant Center with positive pressure isolation rooms and critical care center with infectious isolation rooms.
  • New Gamma Knife and HDR equipment rooms.
  • New Endoscopy Laboratory
  • Ventilation upgrades for TB infectious isolation patient rooms, and infectious isolation surgical rooms and infectious isolation/protective isolation examination outpatient rooms. Upgraded areas of the hospital for TB isolation in accordance with current CDC standards.
  • ICU Suite. Fast track four month design and construction project for renovation of the ICU ward, including a new central air conditioning system and medical gas support systems.
  • Replacement of air handlers for invasive procedure areas, including the Cath Lab, OR3, and OR5.
  • New MRI and CT facilities.
  • Fire Sprinkler Upgrades. Developed masterplan and design for installation of a new fire sprinkler system for previously unprotected areas of the hospital.
